Cat Living In Sewer Births Unusual Kitten, Vet Can’t Explain It

A stray cat, named Jenny, was living in a sewer. She was rescued and brought to a local shelter. She was significantly malnourished. They also discovered that Jenny was pregnant. It was imperative that Jenny’s health improve in order for her to survive labor.

The volunteers worked tirelessly to care for Jenny and get her as healthy as possible. Their efforts worked! The only problem was, she was incredibly skittish and wanted nothing to do with people or other animals. Thankfully with time, Jenny came out of her shell. But soon after, Jenny began acting strange. She stopped eating and went back to her old behaviors.

Jenny’s change in behavior could only mean one thing: the cat was going into labor! A few days later, Jenny gave birth to five healthy kittens. As the kittens grew up, however, one baby didn’t look like any of the siblings. Her coat was curly! It was as if she got a perm. It was the oddest thing. Even the vet was scratching his head. He had never seen a kitten look like this!

The veterinarian ran tests and found that the kitten was perfectly healthy. He assured everyone that her appearance would not affect her quality of life. The shelter then brought in an expert cat breeder who knew everything about felines. The breeder was also stumped but still wanted to adopt the kitten. The expert claimed that the kitten was the most beautiful cat she had ever seen!

What follows is quite the tale! While we love this story, we strongly encourage you to adopt from your local shelter or rescue group. Too many shelter animals are in need of forever homes and make amazing companions! Adoption saves lives!
