Now, his Twitter account reveals this once sad cat is living the good life and bossing his pawrents around like they’ve been his minions for years! Aster’s owner marched the cute puppy into the vet’s office and demanded she be euthanized. The reason: Aster is blind and deaf. The vet refused. He understood that blind and deaf dogs could still have quality of life, and make wonderful additions to the right family. And one kitty facing a Canadian winter night in the middle of January knew just who to turn to in her time of need—firefighters! When the staff at the Steinbach Fire Department in Manitoba saw sweet Ember at their window begging to come in, they couldn’t leave her out in the freezing temps. Two Pit Bull brothers, named Keiko and Niko, were being sold as ‘fighting dogs.’ A kindhearted woman named Tawny saw their post online and knew she had to help. She only had room for one puppy so she adopted Keiko. But then two months later, Niko was still waiting for a home. Tawny couldn’t fathom where he might end up, so she went and picked him up immediately. The brothers’ reunion was incredible. They snuggled up to one another, relieved they were back together again. Otter and Bunny are a pair of bonded kitten siblings who almost didn’t get their chance to prove their toughness. At two weeks old, they were left all alone. Complicating their case, both kittens were missing portions of their front legs and feet, while Otter had a protrusion on his head that opened onto his brain.
